Above grade the Durisol walls will additionally be insulated with another layer of Roxul R22 insulation, finshed off with Gutex Multiplex woodfibre boards and a ventialated solid wood siding, made from Larch sourced from a small community forest in the Central Kootenays.
The total R-Value for the exterior walls will be R45 with substantial thermal mass on the inside of the walls.
Interior walls: 8" Durisol ICF forms and 4.5" clay bricks.

This construction is incredibly strong and will easily support your 9ft concert grand piano and essentially turn the basement into a tornado shelter!
