This project is nearing completion: a new addition to an existing older cabin and partial renovation of the old cabin. A challenging project.
The basement walls are 14" Durisol ICF with an R-Value of R21 and sealed with a dimple membrane.
A distinctive feature exclusively built by Tennengau Timberworks is the suspended concrete slab, built from railroad rails with vaulted ceiling in the basement. This construction is incredibly strong and will easily support your 9ft concert grand piano or even your pet elephant!
The exterior walls are 8" high by 4" thick Douglas Fir logs.
5.5" Roxul insulation is added on the exterior and a ventilated siding made from Larch boards was applied, giving the wall an R-Value of R26 nominally with the added benefit of thermal masson the inside of the building.
The roof is all Douglas Fir timbers visible on the inside with 2" thick Cedar paneling as the visible ceiling.
All interior walls are 4x8" Douglas Fir as well.
More pictures to come.
